About this data & how to read it

Purpose & Scope

This tool provides objective insight into salary structures for educators in Central Ohio, including teachers and licensed therapists such as Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Physical Therapists.

For the purposes of this tool, “Central Ohio” is defined as school districts with significant geographic boundaries within Franklin County and those closely aligned with the Columbus-region employment market.

Data Coverage

The data presented reflects salary schedules for the 2025–2026 school year, representing each district’s pay structure as of May 2026. Updates will be incorporated as new agreements are finalized and publicly released.

Assumptions & Standardization

  • Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities (FCBDD) publishes compensation on an hourly basis. Annual salary is estimated using 205 workdays at 8 hours per day.
  • To maintain consistency across districts, this tool displays the three most comparable lanes: BA, MA, and MA+30.

Interpretation Notes

The table displays salary, percent difference, and dollar difference relative to the average salary at the selected step. Values are highlighted when they are more than ±7.5% above or below the average.

Limitations

Salary is only one component of total compensation. Benefits, paid time off, retirement contributions, and other contract terms are not currently reflected.

Data Source & Transparency

All data used in this tool is sourced from publicly available collective bargaining agreements maintained by the State Employment Relations Board (SERB): SERB Collective Bargaining Agreement Archive.
